for anyone out there with a standard memory card and an Action Replay dock, you can use it. I tested it with a Mad Catz memory card and a M$ one. So now if your friend wants to do a softmod, but you dont want them to use your xbox or your Action Replay card, you can just lend them the dock to use with their third party card.

you're supposed to use third party memory cards with action replay. sorry to break it to you but you're not the first to discover this magnificent breakthrough. all the credit goes to whoever wrote the first tutorial on modding

there are people who have done it (tried so many times till it got it) and some who never could get it running until they bought an m$ card. The problem with AR is it corrupts the saves and xbox won't recognize them. It will save you alot of trouble if you get the m$ card.

I used an Action Reply card when softmodding, and it worked without a hitch...it probably has to do with the luck of the draw. Maybe some cards work, others might not.
