WD BB models are very tricky when it comes to locability.. Otherwise I would tell you to look it up too..
I'm not sure if this applies to 40GB models, but with 120's and 160's the WDnnnBB-00GVA0's are lockable and the WDnnnBB-75GVA0's are not lockable..
