I am thinking of backing up a few of my Xbox games as I have already ruined one game as I leave them on the side, they get knocked off troden on, etc.

1 - I was just wondering what problems I could incounter and possible damage to my xbox could come from chipping my Xbox?

2 - I also heard that you need another hard drive installed to backup games, etc. is this true?

3 - Would I have to backup my Xbox hard drive, just incase something went wrong?

4 - Are there any tips (other than read the tutorials) that you could give me?

5 - Is it all actually worth it, in the end I mean? Would it just be easyier and cheaper to buy replacement games as they break?

Thanks,

Ab5

DAMAGE IS POSSIBLE. All it depends on is how you install the mod / hack or whatever method your going with to mod your box.

2 - I also heard that you need another hard drive installed to backup games, etc. is this true?

Yeah I felt pretty damn lousy when I modded my box and saw that the default factory 8-10 GB HDD was not cutting it at all.

3 - Would I have to backup my Xbox hard drive, just incase something went wrong?

That'd be a Great idea... Just C: and E: would be useful to back up.

4 - Are there any tips (other than read the tutorials) that you could give me?

Well the best tip I could possibly give is Find out your xbox version and then check out the methods you have available to mod your xbox version. Which leads to a bunch of TUT Reading. Or Just have someone do the modding for you.. I do em for 20 bucks a box.

Cheers!

Thanks for fast reply,

My "friend" will install the chip for me and install the software, etc. He has done it lots of times before from what I have heard. So he knows what he is doing.

1 - Could I back the Xbox hard drive onto my PC hard drive or doesnt it work that way?

2 - Even if I was ftp'ing my games straight to my PC, would I need another hard drive?

Thanks

Ab5

Edit: I use the term "friend" loosly, he is a friend, of a friend of a friend, who I have never met.

Well taking anything electronic apart or hacking something can always result in failure. If you do everything right, though there is little risk.

No, not at all. Unless you plan on storing games on your hard drive. I've never upgraded mine. It holds my MAME ROMs and that's it.

You should. After chipping your box you can boot evox off of a CD-RW disc, then FTP all the files from your hard drive to your computer.

I think so.

Yeah, that's what I do. No need to upgrade that hard drive. beerchug.gif
