Surreal Xxx B4 Emulator Not Working Options

I'm just wonderin if anyone out there has the same problem with me when using the N64 emulator Surreal XXX b4. It works fine, but controller 3 and 4 aren't working when i try to play w/Mario Kart. I go to the setup for surreal and enable both Controller 3 and Controller 4 and nothing happens. And I even go to the setup in the game and do the same and the controllers still dont' work. Any ideas?

this has been popping up alot
i don't have 3-4 controllers to test it with.
have you tried directly editing surreal.ini?

I had this problem too before. It is a bug on the emulator (or at least the one I downloaded) but I solved it this way:

Pick the game
Go to set up (once iside the game)
Disable/Enable ports 3 & 4 WITH Contlol 3 or 4
Problem solved

I remember that working for almost everygame except for a few ones but Mario Kart recognized the controlers after that (I did not tested it because I needed more players at that time)

I've tryed what was posted above to no avail. I can enable port 4 but not port 3. I took a look at the surreal.ini file I didn't see anything for the controller. The top portion of the .ini looks like this:

Does anyone see anything that can be fixed here? I get the feeling that this issue lies within the emulator itself somewhere.

I try it again and it did not work...

then I reset the game and worked after doing it again.

This was what I did :

1.-Open Surreal B4
2.-Pick Mario Kart 64
3.-Press left tumbstick with pad #1 to access the menu
4.-Use Pad #3 to Enable ports 3 and 4 (if already enabled, disable it first then enable it)
5.-Return to game (at this point you can press left tumbstick with pad #3 to access the menu again) and try to select a character with pad #3 with no luck.
6.-Go to menu and reset rom
7.-Access menu again and repeat step 4
8.-at this moment I was able to pick a character with pad #3

I tested it with Pads on ports 1 & 3.

Let me know if someone gets this working too or if someone knows the exact problem
