Ok, I just got my xbox modded, and my new HD installed. The xbox is a 1.6, and it's been on live, and I bought a new EEPROM to go with the new HD. I used configmagic to change the EEPROM, and I'm almost posotive I did everything right (my IP adress changed. and it asked language and timezone info.) I went to try to connect to live (without a disc in), and it was unable to connect. I switched back to my original EEPROM, and did the same thing, but it was able to connect. I just need to know if it will still be all right if I put a game in and use LIVE, or if it doesn't check the EEPROM when I'm in the dashboard.
