Hi all,

I got a DuoX2 with the cromwell in it. Tryied to flash it with M8 (for my XB 1.0)
and now my eject light flashes green and red and i have no image on screen.

I'm guessing the flashing didn't work .... what can i do to correct this now?

^bump^...just tried flashing the same chip on a 1.0 box...same thing...worked fine before the flash...I used the Eurasia Flash disc and now the eject led flashes red/green and wont do anything....

Which side are you flashing? I just flashed mine over HTTP without any problem at all. Here's what I did:

1. Boot from flashBios side
2. Flip switch on chip
3. enable network flashing
4. flash with X2 5035

I was trying to flash bank 0, just as listed on duomods site...my son was crying while it was flashing, when I came back in, it was off...when I turned it back on, it powers up and down 3 times and then flashes red/green...

Flip the swtich and see if you can boot to another bank. If you can boot to the other bank, once booted flip the switch back and reflash that bad bank.

OK both you guys have flashed a 256k bios onto your Duo X2 and now it just frags !

you know you did ... anyway you need to download ...

Grab EVTOOL to edit Evox M8 Bios or grab XBTOOL if you wanna edit X2 bios.

Now load either program up on your computer and then the bios you want to use. It will show 256k bios size. Click on the 512k and save the bios. Now burn the bios disc again.

Now you have a good bios on cdrw or dvd-r. Dont use CDR or DVD+R as the xbox dont like em. Burn at 4x cdrw or 1x dvd-r.

Flick the bank switch ( little switch on modchip ) and hopefully it boots to flashbios and you can choose flash bios from cd and insert your cdrw/dvd-r with the new bios on it.

If it boots cromwell bios then use the eurasia disc to boot it.

If you can boot no matter what way the switch is you will have to hotswap using another chip to fix this.

I got it to flash using FlashBIOS v 3.3 with the X2 5035 bios....but my wife was calling me to help her with the baby and I didn't set the switch back to 0 before I started it...it runs fine, but Bank 0 is still corrupt....anyone got a copy of FlashBIOS, or know where I can get it? I'd like to keep my modded bios on 0 and the FlashBIOS on 1....

Go into the BIOS forums and search for flashbios. you find find a link to download the file you need. Grab shepd's awesome flashbios 3.01-3 unless you have a xbox v1.6b then you will need the flashbios 3.03. These are the unoffical versions are are not the normal xectuer ones ... they are much better. but do not use the eeprom options or you will kill your xbox !

Save the flashbios onto your desktop and rename it to 256k.bin then run the command prompt in win xp and type in this stuff (you will have your username instead of hackdabox) type this ..

C:/>Documents and Settings/HackDaBox>cd desktop
C:/>Documents and Settings/HackDaBox/Desktop>copy /b 256k.bin 256k.bin BIOS.BIN
C:/>Documents and Settings/HackDaBox/Desktop>exit

OK now you will have a BIOS.BIN that is 512k and ready to flash to your other bank

Thanks bro...KeyMastur filled me in on the command...doubled it, burnt it and flashed it to bank 1...everythings good to go now...I just prefer to have flashbios on bank 1...http flashing is so much easier and faster to me....

i kind of got the same problem but i flashed over bank 1 and now i only have cromwell so im downloading gentoox right now and i will flash from there, but is there any way i can restore bank 1 back to original, cuz i wana keep bank 1 and flash over bank 0 lol. But like my bank 1 for fraged.

This is how I did mine, you'll need to have the xbox hooked up to your network, or to a NIC on your PC with a crossover cable.


1. Slide the white switch on the chip to the right side (bank 1)
2. Start up your xbox
3. When FlashBIOS starts up, select Enable Network Flashing
4. Enter the IP that it shows in a browser window
5. Click Browse to find the flash file you want to use
6. Click Upload Flash
7. Set back and wait for it to finish (wont take long at all)

He said the chip was blank

The only way to flash a blank chip is to hot swap it with another one.
