OK guys, so this morning i try to power up my xbox, but it doesnt turn on. 2 nights ago i took the motherboard and PSU out of the case and painted the case. That is the only thing i have done so far. I looked at the motherboard and PSU and found that on the bottom of the PSU some of the little metal lumps had what looked like corroded tops. The metal things that were messed up were under the large set of wires that went to the motherboard? is this the problem or is it somethin else, cus i looked at all the traces nd stuff and they were fine.
Again, im not sure if this is the problem.
Thanks for any help!
Mods: srry if this is in the wrong section. The person that helps me fix this will get GTA: Vice City for xbox. I no longer need this game so the person that helps me fix this can have it!

It doesnt do anything when you press the buttons right?
If it was working fine before you took it apart, it sounds like there might be a bad connection when you hooked everything back together, check the power/eject pcb to motherboard connection, if thats secure then it should do something when you try to boot.
You plugged the power in right? I left that out like an idiot once.

Make sure you take a picture of the bottom of the Power Supply Unit, and a close-up of where you say it looks corroded. My friend had the same problem with a 1.0 and I looked at his PSU. The joints at the back, where you plug in the power cable, were black and looked burnt. It was an easy fix with little effort by just soldering everything back together.

If it doesn't power on whatsoever, get a multimeter and test the collector on this transistor.
^^^Try that first, then test the voltages of all the wires on the plug that goes into the mobo. PSU diagrams at xbox.pablot.com I hope you have a multimeter!

Don't listen to Soupy. I saw the pictures and the points do look messed up. Throw some solder on those points. It really can't hurt anything, unless you are soldering wiht a curling iron! The points are huge, so just cover them up with new solder and make sure two points don't touch each other. If that doesn't work, then it is probably the transistor / collector that SICKdimension referred to. You can buy new ones at www.sickmods.net. Go to Catalog, Accessories.
