Hey yall,

I want to know how the ROMS work for Surreal64. Do you just download the rom file just like project 64 for the pc and place in the rom directory?

Then if that is the case, I am having problems.

I have an X3 chip with EvoX installed as a dashboard. I have surreal64 xxx uploaded to the box, and runs perfectly fine from the xbox - No problems there at least.

I have more problems trying to upload the roms to the xbox, I have read everywhere I can possibly could, I usually never post - never have too, but this time I do for I haven't found a similar problem with the one I am having.

I login into my xbox via FTP find where I uploaded Surreal XXX in the box, and find the ROMS folder - I have not configured the .ini files for from what I read there is no need too when they you are putting the roms inside the install directory.

Just a FYI it is pointing to D:\roms and D:\media

I find the folder and I try uploading Zelda OOT into the folder - It seems to transfer and then it says transfer complete 0 bytes transferred and theres nothing in the folder.

DAMN! - And it's been doing this non-stop.

I have used GoodN64 to check the validation of the files - and for other lookers of this problem DO NOT USE goodwindows as a gui if you run Windows XP - USE GoodGUI - It's at the same download area in the sticky. (i'm too lazy to find it for you filename=GoodGUI083.rar).

Anyway even after checking the files with goodn64 I still have problems, it just says I have 8 files which I do (8 different versions of Zelda OCC), and all 8 files do the same problem.

PLUS - I just recently zipped the file just to see if that will work, but the same problem, 0 bytes received after I transfer a 30Meg File!

HELP PLEASE

either you're out of hd space or the romnames contain illegal characters.

I suggest you first give one of your roms a simple name, something like zelda
nothing big like Zelda, THE legend of (U) (!) (X) just Zelda

then if it transfers properly just use my renaming guide to rename your roms to fatX file lenght.

i never really understood the point in having 8 different versions of the same game unless it was different in some way (ie. Final Fantasy 2 US/Final Fantasy 4 JAP...HUGE difference!)...maybe its just my own completionist disposition taken to the next level...or the next 5? Somehow seems pointless to me tho...

Jonesy, I agree. But perhaps stevesmename just downloaded 8, and unfortunately can't get one to work, so he tried all of them. Anywho, Steve, you state that it says transfer complete? or does it say transfer failed?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

That was the trick, would of never thought of it.

And the reason why I have so many versions is because they were all included in the download .torrent I had downloaded overnight.

Thanks AGAIN!

simple answer, yet extremely effective.

Steve
