No need to start a new thread. Leave the disc in the drive when rebooting.

I'm wondering, don't all xboxs allow cdrw to be ran on the xbox. Because thats like the only way xbox will allow you to transfer music to the HDD.

1) Not all CDRWs work on any Xbox. Media matters!
2) You can use Xbox Soundtrack Manager to transfer music to your HD

By that you mean all the files on the cdrw exept media files can be read or if you have one dummy mp3/wmp or whatever format files on there the xbox will accept it.

It doesn't mean it will accept it but dummy files help it find the evox file. the fuller the cdrw the better

He means the brand.
Different companies use different inks and whatnot, so some don't work, some do.
Just pickup another brand and see if it works, hopefully it should.
My memorex cdrw disks did.

But if I want to use a Cd-R I just replace the DVD with a cdrom which should not be of a big problem.

I have cheap Imation CDRWs and Memorex DVD-R, which take awhile to boot, work for small programs, but not for games

Verbatim CDRW and DVD+R is the shit. Very good media for my Xbox and its Thomson drive

Um, no.

First off, CDR is not the best media for the Xbox. Most drives, other than the Samsung, can't read it.
