There are dozens of websites that will tel you what media your drive will (probably) read. Use Google.

And it only comes with a stock hard drive? Wow... you got ripped off. That's just the crappy aftermarket clear case with the X3CP. From what I read on their website... the chip is already flashed with the Illegal BIOS so yes, his xbox will read his slayer's disc (if it was burnt onto Imation CD-RW).
