okay so a few days a go i installed a cathode light for my jewel.. totally played havoc with my xbox.... kept freezing or not turning on or off etc.
so i took it off yesterday and thought everything would be back to normal. however today i tried to play a movie in xbmc and it just froze, so i reset the xbox and tried to load xbmc back up... just goes to loading screen then the dashboard(evox) just comes up again. why? i deleted xbmc and loaded an older version onto my xbox and again loading screen and then back to dashboard. I reloaded the first xbmc and still nothing. so i then tried putting xbmc onto my g partition(originally on e) and still nothing i then put my old 80gig hard drive that i used to have on my box a few months ago before upgrading to a 300 gig. This 80 gig still has all my data on it like xbmc... and it worked!!! this is telling me that my hard drive is the problem. Im thinking that the inverter off the cold cathode light has fucked up my hard drive some how. however i have tried other apps on my e: partition such as unleash dashboard and that works fine so its just xbmc thats not working anymore info you need, just ask has anyone got any ideas what i can try to fix this? |

Try deleting the XBMC gamesave from the MS dash or UnleashX and then run XBMC again.

deleted the saves but didn't fix it... just again goes to loading screen and then back to dashboard any other ideas? |

okay i said before that everything worked apart from xbmc... i was wrong...
it seems that nothing works at all now except unleash dashboard and boxeplorer. Everything else including games, other apps such and linkbok do not work they also just go to loading screen and then back to dash. can anyone please help? i starting to think that my hard drive might be stuffed. However i can still ftp to the data and see that its all there and that when i transfer it to my pc, the data is fine. ????? |

try the cache files and what bios are you using evoxm8 x2 or what

cleared the cache but didn't work
my bios is m8 plus. I changed to this bios when i upgraded hard drives. any other ideas? do you think i should change bios? If so, to what kind? does changing bios have any affect on saved stuff on hard drive? This post has been edited by Waltzin: Sep 11 2005, 01:36 PM |
