So I go to play xbox live tonight. I swap hard drives, then I go to switch my modchip off. Well on the 2.6 switchboard it lights up red when it's off, and I just checked to see that it was red, and it was. Then I try to connect to XBL and it's not connecting, it tells me to do network config. So I go to that and it connects, but when I hit Y it takes quite a while.

Now am I screwed? Did I just ban myself from xbox live or does evox dash stop it from connecting to xbox live or is that just a myth.... I played for a little bit but I know it can take up to 24 hours...

If your banned it well tell you that you are.

Also With thoes chips you have to be careful that the switch to turn it on or off is fully to a selector because i moved it and the lights were to red and this chip was still on. make sure you switch it fully across to ither off or on.

what bios are you using? most new bios will block access to Live to prevent accidental bans

You should really have the bios or dashboard (preferably BIOS) change the eject button light to orange instead of green. Therefore you can doubled check exactly which bios the xbox is booted from no matter where the switches on the modchip are!

I'm using EvoX M8_1.6 and no it did not block live access sad.gif

2nd hard drive/eeprom banned. I swear I got a gift.

that's a good idea except I only have green LED's soldered onmy p/e board. Maybe when I get a new hard drive I'll take the time to do that.

I have another question: I've heard that since my account has been banned they have it flagged so that I can only use (a virgin) stock hard drives. Is this true?

Then if I do get a stock hard drive do I need to format it using slayers?

And does 1.6 hard drives only work with 1.6 hard drives or are hard drives universal unlike eeproms?

Thanks for helping me get through the hard times guys sad.gif

you could make them flash or even turn them off through the bios, just to give some indication your running a non retail bios

Yeah I will probably do that. I'm just kinda worried about something getting messed up when I flash my bios, but I've been wanting to change my boot screen anyways so I might get around to it one of these days.

Can you answer my questions about hdds? All I need to do is get a virgin 1.6 eeprom and any virgin stock hdd right?

I can't exactly get a new GT since I was forced to renew like 5 days ago sad.gif

Hard drives are universal, you need not worry about that. Just make sure it is a stock drive.

If your gonna buy a new EEPROM, look for SpiffyVill in purchasing section. He's a good and quick seller. Talk to him and he may give you a discount.
