Well, im new to all the linux on xbox. I tried running like 4-5 different linux's, but most of them dont load past the black screen with the penguin. I tried Sxb, freebsd, dynebolic, and some other ones just named linux. By the way, I was wondering if there was any linux that had a browser that had flash/java support? thx pop.gif

I could not get xebian to work so I tried XDSL.

The only trick is to follow the directions included in the download and overwrite the linuxboot.cfg file that comes with the distribution.

XDSL includes firefox - havent tested for java.

use xdsl in u want to acess the internet only, and may chat

yea xdsl and firefox does have flash and java support, it needs to be downloaded or "updated seperately but once it is installed it works great

when yor installing and running these distros...what is plugged into the controllers ports?

some xboxes freeze linux up if the DVD remote sensor is plugged in. mine would freeze if either the dvd eye or a usb mouse were plugged in.

I downloaded XDSL and it actually works ohmy.gif anyone know where to download the java upgrade? I saw the flash upgrade.. Also, I usually boot with my usb mouse/keyboard plugged in.. guess i'll try again without it in there sometime.. But the error didnt look like it had anything to do with that, it said something like "could not mount img" or something tongue.gif
