Need Help, Xbox Frags, Spiderchip v1.1 Options

Ok recently I messed up my dash and all I could do was play games (deleted MA save to save space)(yes my xbox was softmodded) and so I bought a Spiderchip v1.1 so I can FTP into my xbox and put EvoX back on there, but im pretty sure I have installed the chip correctly!! But it still turns on, turns off, turns on, turns off, turns on then FRAG's...can someone help me! If you need me to I can try and post pics or a video of what happens.

EDIT: I didn't know wether to post this in the Spider Team forums or here for other newbies to look at?

Sounds like it isn't correctly installed. Does it give an error number?

You need to check your modchip installation VERY carefully. The "christmas lights syndrome" (llamma.com) is usually caused by either a bad modchip or broken traces on the mobo.

So your telling me if the installaton is EXACTLY right then I probilie have either a broken trace thingy (i seriously doubt it cuz eveything thing works fine, I just need a dash in there named evoxdash.xbe so it can boot) or i have a bad chip? Man.. my luck keeps getting worse and worse....

EDIT: Um guys I just relized that the pic of when the guy is done installing the chip is different to how it is to be installed....like the little cord thing is like going to another ones via..like theve been swaped... (Sorry that I dont know my terms that good! )

Well the edit button disapered so srry for double post but...my luck just got worse, my damned xbox WONT TURN ON!! even without the chip in or anything, I dont understand I didn't do anything!!!!!!!! It just wont turn on now!!!

did u put a v1.6 xbox into an older case, if so your transitor is blown

nope, but if you ask me that is kindive weird for it to just stop working like that....

Problem will not be a bad chip but down to the install of the chip. these are notorious for poor LPC alignment and connection

You probably blew the transister if you happened to leave it open as you set the chip into place, or touched the wrong thing on the board..etc .. etc 1.6 are pretty easy to short out. You can get a replacement transister from llamma.com and solder it back on the board after you remove the old one.

Alrighty, now I just need to find out what a transistor is and where it is on the motherboard.....
