I was just wondering I have my xbox hddmaker cd to make hd for my xbox, could I use that to make a hd for my friends xbox, and then instead of locking it preform a hot swap and let the xbox do the locking or is there a way to use a soft modded xbox hd to mod another xbox

what you can do is create another xboxhdm disc without an eeprom on it but make sure you have all the other necessary files [stock C, possibly E]. now save your friend's eeprom onto a floppy and choose to lock the hdd in xboxhdm. it'll look on the disc for an eeprom but it won't be able to find one so it'll ask you to specify where it is. Now stick in your floppy disc and choose to lock from floppy which is "lockhd -a" without the quotations of course. from now on you can use that second xboxhdm disc to prepare hdds for anyone. putting your eeprom on it basically personalizes it so you can only use it for yourself. its a good idea to keep your personal copy of xboxhdm around just incase your xbox runs into a problem that can only be fixed with an eeprom. you can use the second copy for anyone else

what if I don't have the eeprom, how would I go about getting it with out using the different expoits, can I just put config magic on a already modded xbox hd and then hotswap and back up the eeprom?

no. you can only back up the right eeprom if the hd is in the right xbox.
