First thanks for all your praises.

"modding the actual xbox360 controller with LEDs would make it hard to use when tyring to do multi player... because it lights up to designate what quadrant you are on the console and what player you are."
Actually no it wont, they are completly seperate from each other. the X never lights up when stock, only the ring around it does.
Sorry i dont know how to quote.

I uses one 5mm green led, the plastic is tansparent green so i suppose a white would

work to.
First i had to hollow out the button by drilling into it with a bit slightly smallerin diam. than the space inside leaving the button an empty shell. The entire button is made of the clear green plastic, the silver is added.
llamma is now doing this mod so they may have more or better info
Those Bastards! jk
llamma 360 light modLittle button at the bottom right of every post box.
So from what your telling me that "it is completely seperate" is that the light from the center x won't leak into the ring outside of the X? Because if it does it will be kinda hard to tell what player you are and if you have a message or whatnot.

nvm i think i got it...
The peice seem to be seperate and not transparent. This would keep atleast some of the light from leaking to the outside ring where you see your player "status" on your controller. If you have a dim enough LED you wont get any interference with the stock green leds that tell you your "status". What i would do is change out the 4 leds fo the "status" and add one for the X itself. Yet, what sucks is that the LEDs that light the "status" ring around the X are surface mount leds(firgured) and those are hard to replace.... LSdiodes here i come.
