Ive got a 60 gig hard drive that I want to use in my Xbox. Do i have to get the Eprom info out of the oridinal Xbox hard drive? Or can i just generate one with the Linux Load up Cd (xboxhdm) ?

Is it that simple? or must I obtain a oridinal Eprom password info from my first Xbox and hard drive?

(In order to create a new Hard Drive for the Xbox, do i have to have my oridinal Hard drive, so that i can back up the Eeprom info from there?). Or will the program generate an Eprom from scratch also?).. The tutorials keep using the term "create from scratch..." but then ONE line in the tutorial says that it requires an Eprom. Which would be a clone.. not a "new from scratch".
=
(Sure this has been asked a ton of times, But I couldnt specify a search that narrowed it down. a new Sticky with this specific question would solve the issue.)

It looks like Ill need the EEProm from my Xbox hard drive 1.

Can i just plug the Xbox hard drive into my slave drive, and manually copy eeprom from Xbox Harddrive to my Main hard drive.. Then burn the Eeprom to the New Linux Start up disc?

Is that all there is to it? just 1 file called EEprom. something?

Your trying to move a 60gb HD from another Xbox into the current one? If so then the quickest way would be to unlock the HD in the orginal Xbox with the 60gb then swap it over to the current Xbox and lock it there. If you replacing a stock Xbox HD with a 60gb HD from a PC then just copy everything from C: and E: off the stock HD, unlock it, then stick the 60gb in, format it, lock it, and copy C: and E: to it and your done.

I Haddnt thought about coping the Old drive to the new drive.

I have never run the lock / unlock tools. So im not sure what I would need to do darn it.

Ill look into that idea.

Do you mean HOTswap it?
Could you give more details on this?
Because when I try to just swap an unlocked hd into another XBOX I get error 5 .
And when I lock it ... I get error 6.
