I installed a new eeprom yesterday. I backed up the old eeprom on my comp justi ncase. Once i finished loading the new eeprom instead I locked my HD with my x3 bios and now when I boot my xbox up I get a 06 error code with a circle around it. Its an HDD error what do I do now? Can anyone help me?

you said you locked it with the x3 bios and not an eeprom? how did you manage to do that? its kinda hard to understand what you were trying to say, so just unlock it through configmagic with the new eeprom that you flashed.

an error 6 means that your HDD failed to unlock which leads me to think that you updated your eeprom incorrectly. try unlocking your HDD through xboxhdm and your old eeprom. after that, try re-updating your eeprom and then locking the HDD in configmagic. i ran into this problem myself and fixed it by locking my HDD through xboxhdm with the new eeprom. for some reason the eeprom on the chip updates but it locks the HDD with the old eeprom.

it was smart of you to backup your old eeprom just in case.

@blame canada: X3 chips have the function to lock the HDD from the chip's OS
