Wait For Version 2? Options

ok people i have my preorder in but someone just told me i should wait for the version 2 of xbox 360.

does anyone know how long it takes for them to make a version 2 system.

and do u think there will be much changes?

any ideas please help.

'Version 2'?! What kinda milarky is that? The person that told you that probably didn't want your pre-order bumping his, so he's trying to knock you out of the running. Don't take that lightly bud!! Give him a little That'll learn'em!!

get the first version man! it will be easier to mod and to exploit! im not sure how long it took for the 1.1 version xbox came, does anyone know?

Well...all im saying is that im buying the $40 warrenty; until the scene gets underway. I have the strange feeling we may have some major problems out of the box. But i could deffinitly be wrong

thats y i am tring to figure out if i should wait for the second version or go with my preorder.

on the modding front there will always be a way.

i am just trying to avoid buying the first model then exchanging it later for the second if there are problems.

I remember it took like 7 or 8 months before I saw any thing different to 1.0. Besides I would much rather have a 1.0 than anything else. They ar of a better build quality than any since IMO except for the crappy thomson drive. Besides would you really wait that long just to have a machine which might not have as much chance of becoming faulty?

if you are that concerned wait for version 6. But if you want to play, buy it now.

dont crack the case until your return policy expires... if something goes wrong.. return it.

Just buy the optional warranty and if any problems arise then your all good. Not buying the optional warranty would be a mistake in my opinion. My first xbox didnt even last a year(DDRE) but at that time i just sold it to a local game store(they didnt know it was faulty) then ran across town to their other store and spent the credit to buy a new one!

where talking a triple core systems in a small case i whont be suprised if peoples 360s frigen melt. would been alot beter and probly cheaper to simple use multi prosser and not multicore but oh well. im wating untill the ps3 is out and guess what if the softwhere is cheaer guess what i am not buying. there argument of the 360 being hard to dev on was shot down a wile ago and shot down hard so there just taking a extra 10$ from you everytime.

would be a relly wise move if sony softwhere was cheapr they would destory the 360 even if the ps3 system is weaker. then again sony has been almost as evel as m$ latly so i might opt for a 360 anyways. drmed shit music cds with rootkits and a new tech of dvd noone whants thats also drmed up, i dont wanna hear well exsting dvds are small waa waa lok at 90% of the xbox games few even use more then 2gb and very few above 3gb in fact i think maxrix and halo where the only ones at the 4 gb mark not one i ever saw as 8gb. and dual layer is 8.6. so no devs even use all the space now and you ever hear of compression thers some pretty nice losless ones out there.

I agree, if you keep your X360 nice and clean, don't crack the case, etc, then if it dies in the first year get MS to replace it. (not sure what the laws are like in US about that, but here if a product becomes faulty through no fault of the consumer within a year the manufacturor has to replace it/give refund)

yea...regardless of us modders...we can at least be savvy consumers and buy a warrenty on a product that little is known about. Comon- we're spending over $400 on a entertainment system; wouldnt be nice to spend $40 extra for peace of mind?
