Ok hey everyone, Here is my problem. I have 2 xboxs one V1.1 and one v1.4, they are both broken. The v1.1 boots up with a red/orange frag with no video (im not trying to fix this one) The other xbox my friend gave to me as a failed softmod attempt, it boots with an error 06. I was wondering if i could take the eeprom chip out of the 1.1 xbox and use my HDD in the 1.4 xbox. If not is there any way I can get one working?

(I miss Halo2 soooo much..lol)

Thanks everyone... beerchug.gif

Yes, you can desolder the eeprom chip and transplant it (along with your hdd) onto the other motherboard.

This is a much easier way of fixing your error 06 xbox:

Buy a modchip (any chip will do) and an unlocked hard drive.

Stick the chip and hard drive in the box. Use the chip to lock the new drive to your xbox... done.

Ok so I do not have to reflash the eeprom chip with a 1.4 eeprom

You could just take the hard-drive out of the xbox with the error, and use xboxhdm to reformat it.

Error 6 means that you locked the hdd with the wrong eeprom. You just need to unlock it and relock it with the correct eeprom.
