Xodus (matrix), ...how this going to affect things... Options

Now, on the easybuy website, it lists the Xodus as being able to play different region games... it says NOTHING about running unsigned code.

I hope this is just an error in advertising and not the facts... not being able to run unsigned code would suck for an xbox mod...

Now, if it's flash upgradable (which it seems it is), then you would be able to put whatever bios you wanted on there... problem solved. However, who said anything about the bios? Maybe this mod chip does not affect the bios... would it really have to play multi-region games?

Look at the debug xbox... isn't it capable of playing any region? Does it change bios' when it does this? I don't think so... so maybe they plucked that out of the debug kit?

I don't know, I'm still skeptical of this mod... I don't see how it's possible yet. It may very well be true... look how Evox surprised us... but for now I don't know.

If it IS true, I'm buying some more Xboxes and some Xodus chips and some hard drives and hooking my friends up (well, yeah, I sell it to them for a "little" extra).

Whaddaya think an Xbox with an 80 gig HDD LOADED with "sofware" is worth?

maybe...both enigmah and xtender said they could be flashed...but....i hate this...why did obscurity get so mixed in with the xbox mod scene? And i can't believe anyone would preorder this chip when they have zero information about it.

My guess is that it will have all the features of the current mods. I'm also guessing it will be something that snaps onto an existing chip on the xbox's mobo. There are similar mod utilizing this design for the ps2.

I read in another forum that it would be a spring loaded PCB that would lay over the LPC connecter and secured in place via 3 screws. (think of the heat sinks on some via northbridge sets, or some nvidia video cards) It would have a LPT connector for flash upgradeability.

My concern is the stability and if it could be jarred just enough to lose connection.

Only time will tell.

I heard that rumor too, but there is still a wire that needs to be connected to ground out the onboard bios.

Their Matrix modchip is NOT the Xodus. Notice how they even spelled OpenXBOX as "Openbox"... they are total rip-offs.

The Xodus (matrix) Chip is the Bios Chips!! you have to remove your xbox Bios and replace it with the Xodus (matrix) Bios Chip........

That why it don't need any WIRES or Soldering.....

The BIOS in the debug box is different from the retail box to begin with. It already allows unsigned code to run, and is region independant.

There is no reason to doubt that this new mod will be all it says it will be.

Listen, I'm ALL for this mod... but I think saying that'll take 5 minutes... well, is that a total of 5 minutes? You can't even take your Xbox apart that quick...

I told a lot of my friends to wait on this chip... because they are worthless at soldering, and I'M not go to do it for them, fuck it up, and buy them a new xbox...

I wouldn't complain about a clip, really... as long as it works... wtf do we care about stability? WTF are you doing with your Xbox that it might come off?

You wouldn't necessarily have solder a ground... if the screw is place at a strategic position...IT could act as a ground... maybe.

All I'm thinking... SINCE there are no details, it's NOT going to be as good or as easy as suspected. Why wouldn't you show JUST how EASY it is? Don't you think more people would preorder if they knew what they were getting?

My guess is its a bios clip and goes over ther bios or the LPC, I can't think of anything else.

As far as we know the modchip will be flash upgradable about the same way you can do with the openxbox.

We hope we'll get a sample soon , so we can confirm all this info.
