Xampp Install Script, X-Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl. Options

Ok so your now a linux user and you want to run a webserver.. Or you just wanna play with Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMMP if for you :-) It's preconfigured and has a web interface here's all the packages it includes.

Apache, MySQL, PHP & PEAR, Perl, ProFTPD, phpMyAdmin, OpenSSL, GD, Freetype2, libjpeg, libpng, gdbm, zlib, expat, Sablotron, libxml, Ming, Webalizer, pdf class, ncurses, mod_perl, FreeTDS, gettext, mcrypt, mhash, eAccelerator, SQLite and IMAP C-Client.

i created a uber simple script that can easily download and install it for ya! :-P

NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE A LOOPBACK OR NATIVE INSTALL LOOK AT MANUAL FOR HOW TO!

instructions:

1. Log in to XDSL or Ssh in.
2. Type wget http://www.x-dsl.org/downloads/XAMMP.sh
3. Type chmod 777 XAMMP.sh
4. Type ./XAMMP.sh
5. Enjoy

replace chmod 777 with chomod +x no reason to give everyone full access to the script.

hehe is xdsl doesn't matter.. Any user can type sudo su and get access.. XAMPP is for newbs and if you worried about security you would have fixed sudo su. And if you did you wouldn't care about XAMPP :-P

Well i'm sure it has bugs as any app does.. But XDSL is debian so it should run just as well as any debian machine would! I have yet to have an issue but i havn't tested it that much.. Enjoy :-)

I have installed it and its working well
but just one question how can i broadcast it to the web? because it only has a local IP 192.168.0.XXX (changes on every log in) i have ICS on.

I as well am using ICS with my laptop via wireless.. But since i havn't messed with it much i dunno how to forward everything to the xbox :-P..

I cant seem to get it to work.
heres what happens

is that an error with your script or with my setting. It says it cant download so i think it may be the script.

Nevermind, i just edited the script to download from easynews instead. for others its just instead of wget http://www.x-dsl.org/downloads/XAMMP.sh change it to wget http://www.playerkill.org/mirrior/XAMMP.sh
i also changed to following line.
but now it doesnt work as a script. it works great if you do it manually though.

/opt/lampp/lampp start

chmod 777 /opt/lampp -R

chmod 755 /opt/lampp/phpmyadmin -R

/opt/lampp/lampp security

chmod 755 phpmyadmin makes it work correctly

this was all done using putty from a remote computer after all i checked the site from this remote computer by keying in the xbox's local ip.

this also works for xfedora test 4 just fine, when i used it on xdsl it worked perfect but for some reason it would put the pictures on my tgp up in the wrong order and once again with fedora it is doing the same, think it has something to do with switching mysql database from linux to windows then back to linux
