i am getting my xeniuom chip shipped to me on tuesday or wed. whatever when i install my chip do i need to add a bios? or not. to play backup games. because my step father has some backups will it work on my xbox ? or i need to add a bios .? not sure dont have a chip yet right now.

Yes a modchip needs a bios in order to play backups of games you legally own.

Advertising the fact that you intend to play backups of your fathers games will get you told off by the moderators as its tantamount to piracy.
