Xbox 360 Hardware Disassembled and Analyzed -- Posted by XanTium on November 16 11:37 EST
Anandtech.com posted an article about the final retail Xbox 360 hardware internals detailing everything from the storage devices to the CPU and GPU core.
It also explains how you can open your Xbox 360!
Something new: the Hitachi-LG DVD drive uses an SATA interface and a proprietary power connector. The HD is a 20GB 2.5" Serial ATA Samsung notebook hard drive running at 5400RPM. The HD uses both a standard SATA data and power cable.

They failed to mention if they were able to put it back together and play it without it locking them out.

oh for fucks sake.. there is no lockout bullshit when opening it!

and the HD is a standard 2.5" drive, same as you'll find in any laptop, if you want to know the size, look at any standard 2.5" one.

We need to know if it will let us put it back together without getting locked out or having our live accounts banned.... Thats an interesting theory actually. Perhaps the box does not lock you out but autobans your live account if you try to log in and it detects that you cracked the case... hahaha

I don't know.... Any information on this? Does the box still work after it is reassembled? Can it even be reassembled? Those pics still look pretty sweet though....

when I was young, kids would never hit their mothers... never mind getting paid to do so.

btw - someone asked about putting things back together, etc.

yes. things go back together easily, and I've logged back onto xbox live - with no issues.

btw- I've posted new pics (and info about the TSOP) on my blog: http://softlife.blogsort.com

cheers,

Steb.
