what are the extra two switches for? i believe you can mount the momentary switches anywhere as long as its all wired up correctly, you could run both wires externally n just use heat shrink wrap over the wires n rest of controller lead to neaten it all up.

There's only one yellow wire in the controller's cord.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just read that you said to have one wire external, but then what would be the point of 4 switches? Anyways, that whole idea seems impractical.

i know it seems impractal but there's a guy bugging me to show him how to do it. also if you look at it the point of the other switch's is to stop the signal going to the power and eject at the same time. if you have a better way of wiring this please show me.

It's rather simple. You need to cut the yellow wire that is coming out of the inside of the controller port. This wire is then attached to pin 2 (Power). Your new wire will go to pin 4 (Eject). Inside the controller, you need to cut the yellow wire and attach it to one side of your switch. The other pole of this switch goes to ground. The new wire that was added goes to one pole of the other switch. The remaining pole on this switch goes to ground as well. Here is a schematic of the wiring:
Now there is one problem to overcome. How will this additional wire connect to the Xbox? Will it have it's own connector? Will it be permanantly wired together?

if i understand what your are saying right, when you hit one switch it will send a jolt to pin four and two at the same time. this is what im trying to avoid with the other switches.

His schematic is correct, and will only ground either pin 2 or 4. It is the same as the front panel, except you would have a 9' wire hanging out of your controller.

I guess im just an idiot because i still don't understand how it would work. his schematic doesn't show the yellow wire being split, please show a completic schematic to help someone who can't think properly.
