Problems With Wga54g And Wifi Options

i got the linksys WGA54G and ive been up all night trying to configure it.
so far the best i did was get everything to work except the news feed in xbmc and the weather, those would not show up. but i could access my home network and get files off my desktop pc.
but i also couldnt find my xbox in xbconnect..
or i get the news feed and wether to work and cant access my home network, but i can go on xbconnect fine..
my desktop pc is hard wired into the router and ive also been messing with trying to connect to the router via wifi to see if it would help, i don know why it works and why it doesnt but im getting pissed.. maybe someone has a breakdown of how to set the WGA54G with ip addy etc and how to get this ALL working.

only conclusion ive come to is this.. if my pc is connected to the router via wifi, i can do everything i want like access my home network from the xbox, and get files from online like game saves etc on the xbox.. but xbconnect wont find my console. but if my console is hooked up with wire into router i can get game saves on the xbox get weather etc everything and i can play on xbconnect, i just cant access my home network through the xbox (xbmc)
so is it just a simple network setting or what? or am i going to have to manually switch connection on my pc from wifi to ethernet everytime i want to play online?

nevermind i guess you need a mixed media lan or some kind of hardware bride to join both networks. pretty dumb.. i guess ill just forget the whole game adapter thing and return it cause 100$ is a waste of money to not work right, id ratherhave my laptop hooked up to it and use a cross over to the xbox and have everything i want to work.
