well i got my 360, and i could only get the core, so anyway, i have no headset except for my old xbox headset, so i plugged it into my controller and it seemed to work, i could receive messages and hear them and send messages to other people on xbox live

so when i'm in perfect dark i can never hear anybody else talking, why is that?

is this because no one has a headset? or my xbox headset isn't compatible?

is anyone else experiencing this or what? i 'm always in the global chat

I would bet it is the head set because there is no way to control the sound of the ld head since the new one's volume is in line. So the volumes is probbly like really low or not even on at all. I would just go buy a 360 headset.

hahai had the same problom on call of duty... go to ur dashboard and go to family settings and youll see voice and instead of just on freinds put it on everyone....

Wow, thanks for that tip. This should be a sticky. beerchug.gif

I like my Halo headset better than the 360 headset. As an experiment I plugged it in and could send and receive messages in my dash...much like jamie.

I then played a few games of PDZ and couldn't hear anybody. I figured nobody has a headset on. Then I switched back to the standard headset and I could hear someone talking.

I'm definately going to have to try this though. When listening to voice messages with just the Halo headset the volume is fine. It is like having the volume turned all the way up on the standard Xbox.

Look under your personal settings as well. There is a place to adjust the headset volume and mic mute.
