i put in a dvd with mp3 on it and it worked you can rip the songs to

MY xbox 360 can read dvd-r and play the mp3s inside it but it won't rip them.
Do I have to put them in wma before I burn? or what?

I don't think you can "rip" your mp3s to the HD. You can only play them from the DVD drive, which means that you won't be able to listen to them when you're playing a game as the games DVD will be in there.

The only way to put your music on the 360's HD is to put in an audio CD, and then rip to the HD (it's converts them to WMA). There's no way (ATM) to copy mp3's / WMA's to the HD.
