I can't get the samsung version b to work with the Aladdin 4032. I have had no problems from version A, but None of the version B will work in every system I install the 4032. The drive works with other modchips and reads fine, it will read the original fine, but no slayers disk or anything. Anyone had a problem with this too.

The chip does not effect the DVD-ROM so you have other problems...When you say it doesn't work what is it not doing?

It will not read anything and it is the chip because I have 8 samsung Dvd Drives including the 616 modified drive that I had to replace with Thomson & Philips Drives. The samsung has no problem with other chips it is just the Aladdin. I have tried differnt types of media, it will only read the original Games! It making me mad becasue with the samung version A, it works with no problems what so ever. Thanks for your reply.

Well why are you bumping the post if you know its the chip then fit a different chip altogether.
There is no problem with Aladdin 4032 chips and the Samsung drives as already stated. I have fitted loads to boxes with the Samsung drives (all types) and they work fine.
The answer is as stated change the chip to a DuoX 2 or whatever you like best

I just trying to figure out why it isn't working in different xbox's,
they work fine with the X3 and others. Well it would be easy to change chips but I have 14 left and most people that come to me have the samsung version B, I have even bought an xbox with the Aladdin 4032 from another person online that had a thomson in it and changed the DVD drive and it still will not work with the samsung! I know that everyone is not having the problem that I have came across, maybe they are clones chips and havea defect, I don't know thanks Chancer for your help and busting me on bumps..lol

I've shit-wrecked the DVD drive before screwing around on the LPC bus so yes it is possible you have some craptastic clone. I got one of those errors that's a PIO error and it was CPLD code induced.
