OK I just finished adding some LED's to the small grill in front of the ahrd drive, the holes in the shield are prefect for mounting 5mm led's to. Just solder the cathode to the shield to ground it, and it also holds the led in place. I'm going to cut out some of that metal shield to make up for blocking some of the holes with led's (any obstruction to cooling air in a box that already overheats is a bad idea).
The led's are blue, this camera just makes em look purple.

I'm gonna finish up the lighting tomorrow, then cut the window (I have an original idea here for that), and then go shoppnig for paint and related supplies.
Also, I drew this up really quick in paint, but here is a good location to wire up led's. Now 12V and ground are all over the board, but this is a very good source of +5v, striaght out of the switching transistor.

Sorry if you can't read that, 12v is on top, then 5v, then ground
