Why does everyone recommend the lite instead of pro for newbies? It seems to me to be easier to flash via a printer port than having to burn 2 cdrws to do a flash, and if you do a bad flash on a lite without a programmer are'nt your in trouble? The price is not much more either.

Lites used to come with xecuter bios preflashed but now come with linux bios for legal reasons. Many people still arent aware of the changes and give thier views based on the old stand. You are probably right that having a pro could indeed be easier now for the reasons you have stated. Its a pure matter of personal taste.
