Top Spin 2, Release? and Anna Options

This could be the next game I buy. Does anyone know when it'll be out. Does anyone know if Anna Kournikova will be in it?

Oh crap that was supposed to say Top Spin 2. Don't get any ideas. lol

Eb games website says 1/23/05. I will probally get this game to. I liked the first one alot. This one is made by 2k sports. Not sure if the other one was.

Top Spin 2 ships April 7
Yesterday, we noted Take Two's fiscal blues were due in part to having pushed back release dates on key sports titles. One of those titles, Top Spin 2, is now set to be released on April 7 for Xbox 360, GBA, and DS.

For those keeping score, the original Top Spin debuted on Xbox a few years back and was considered by many to be the most authentic tennis sim around. Developer PAM is still behind the scenes, but Take Two's 2K Sports took over the franchise from MS and released a Top Spin update for PS2 this past September to lukewarm reviews. Top Spin 2 contains a similar roster of players as the PS2 release, but the 360 visuals means more polygons for Maria Sharapova.

I will be getting this game. Top Spin was a great party game. I hope Take 2 don't butcher the original.

Remember 2k sports made the 1st enjoyable tennis game with tennis 2k2.

I have no doubt that this game will be a smash if they stick to what made 2k tennis awesome for the dreamcast and use the available graphic power on the 360.

i wouldnt say that it was the 1st enjoyable tennis game...i remember playing a tennis game for the SNES that was quite fun...i just cant remember the name and what about mario tennis for that matter?

A few thoughts...

- The game will 95% the same as the original judging by the video's of it and the recent Top Spin release on PS2.

- Take Two are just the publisher, they don't touch the game as far as I understand.

-I doubt even 2K Sports devs will touch the game. The original team were bought (and brought), not just the name.

- The original wasn't that great anyway. Especially the cheesy risk shots. And it wasn't exactly a sim.

- Virtua Tennis was good but you couldn't put the volleys away and the lobs were a joke.

- Tennis 2K2 (Virtua Tennis 2) was much better but it didn't have the great angles and drop shots that the original had.

- The SNES game mentioned may have been Super Tennis. Very cool game.

- The best tennis game I've played is Smash Court 2 on PS2. I like the different style of gameplay where the player starts the backswing animation before you even touch the button, making you actually time the ball, more like playing real tennis.

- I hope the 360 Top Spin isn't just a hi-res quick port like NBA2K was...

Didn't realise they were just the Publisher. They can influence the developer though, although not directly affect the game.

so what your saying is that it may very well just be the same game as top spin 1 with maybe a different look to it and a few new things here and there?...that doesnt sounds promising
