Ok this is what I have: Stock hd married to eeprom; 160 gig hd used for music, DVD backups, etc.; and a virgin 320 gig hd that I will use for game backups.
As of now, I've been using the stock hd to play on live and the 160 gig for everything else. Well since I purchased a new 320 gig hd, I'd like to use it and the 160 gig (I can only fit 2 hds into my stock xbox case). So now I won't be able to use the stock hd for live. Can anybody explain or point me to a tut or thread on how to configure my new 320 gig so that it complies with the marriage theory? I have configmagic and the backed up serial and eeprom from the stock hd. I'd just like to be sure on how to do this so I don't get banned Thanks! |

The steps for safely using an Xbox with an upgraded hard drive on Xbox Live are basically as follows:
1.) Download an unbanned EEPROM for your Xbox version. Most people sell their EEPROMs, but occasionally, they can be obtained for free. 2.) Flash the new EEPROM to your Xbox, using ConfigMagic. 3.) Lock the hard drive to your Xbox. |

I got an EEPROM from a friend's xbox (never been on XBL).
But I have a few more questions: 1. Do I need to unlock my hd before I flash the eeprom (methinks yes)? 2. Will my 160 gig now be safe for XBL too? 3. What if my friend (who I got the eeprom from) decides to create an XBL account? Will he be screwed since M$ already has my new eeprom (his) in their database? Thanks! 1. Yes
2. No 3. Yes Note: The EEProm must be from the same version Xbox (1.0/1.1-1.5/1.6). Only 1.1 to 1.5 EEProms are interchangeable. |
