Blacklisted411 ICE ModChip Research -- Posted by XanTium on January 17 22:53 EST
I know I said I wouldn't post about it anymore unless they came with a real proof, but today Ustler at Blacklisted411 (a famous hackers magazine established over 20 years ago) released a research article about ICE Team's supposed Xbox 360 modchip:
We[Blacklisted411.net] have recently finished our work on icemodchip (A supposed Xbox 360 modchip). With this release, you will provide an in-depth look into icemodchip and their past. This article is intended to provide NEW information and does not include the recent "fake" modchip pictures that have been found to be fraudulent by multiple parties. With this information, the Xbox modding community can now make their own decision based on 48+ hours of research and documentation. Please understand, this is only about 40% of our original research. The other research was not included for several reasons. In addition, we will combat any subsequent video and/or news releases with an analysis into their validity.
You can download the article here (~350k pdf). *UPDATE* Revision1: Updated Information On Page 11.

There actually is, here in australia the princo white top DVD-Rs are pretty popular and the white covers the whole top of the disc. blink.gif

First of I don't know how the xbox360 looks when it sign-in to xbox live. But in the video from that goofy disk I notice in the first seconds of turning it on it says sign-in or signing-in I mean if this xbox signed into xbox live do you think a mod chip could work they didn't before why would they now. Do you see what Im talking about in the video and is that what it looks like signing in from the dashboard.

The DVD's in the video did NOT have the notch that usually is present on optical media.. This caused us to believe something was covering it up.. Thanks for the info on the white DVD's.. We checked out some close up images and found that the DVDs in the video where not the Princo DVDs.. Do a frame by frame step through the video, watch when he turns it.. A image is semi visible when he does this.. We assume its a COD2 DVD... If your going to make a fake video using a 0.10 CD/DVD cover, at least take an exacto knife and cut out the notch.. Or at least be smart and use two images so we dont get the "Ghost" image in a few frames.. Furthermore, the fact he doesnt show the readable side of the DVD causes us to believe he is hiding something.... His past and the info we provide, along with new info, causes me to believe he is 99.99999% fake..
