Here as I have corrected a code 0102 on Xbox 360 1) Have disassembled xbox, have pulled out motherboard, cut out from transparent box for CD of a lining for cooler GPU and CPU 2) Have inserted these linings (like this http://foto.mail.ru/mail/lukyanov_2001/xbox360/1.html) between motherboard and clips of a cooler (one for single clip and second for twice clips), have connected a power unit and a videocord, have disconnected a cooler and have waited for 2 mines 3) Have full assembled console, connected cooler and have established it VERTICALLY, more no failures are present!!!

error 0003 indicates a problem with the high current power supply powering the GPU, either a short circuit (in which case you will hear a brief "buzzing" noise when trying to power on the 360), or a damaged MOSFET or controller chip.
I currently do not know if a short on the CPU power supply will cause the same error or not, the two supplies are independent of each other. Somebody could take an already dead motherboard and put a bridge on one of the capacitors under the CPU to find out.

Add another x360 to the fix list for error code 0102
Xbox360 giving 3 red lights on power up, verified code 0102. Found that by lightly pressing on the two samsung chips that are not underneath the heat sink , I could make the console boot to the dashboard.
Those two chips reflowed with Mastercraft heatgun on low setting .. approx. 480F
X360 booted right away and I have had it playing a game intro for over 1hr so far.
If anyone around Toronto, Ontario has a similar x360 issue and needs their console repaired.. look me up.

I can't believe this but the toothpick trick actually works. I've tried the heat gun trick and replace thermal compound but it was just a temporary fix. After a few hours of play time. I"d get the 3 red lights again but the toothpick trick works 100%. No more redlights. It works everytime I turn it on. The GPU connections are definitely loose. Is there anyway to resolder the GPU besides the heatgun. Perhaps with a soldering iron????

Humm, i fixed my board about 4-5 times for error 0102 (heat trick).
But now its not working any more , im going to get a better heat gun (for solder rework) and hopefully that will fix it. (currently useing a heat gun thats made for shrink wrap, about 500f low 1000f high)
Im buying another system on ebay (hopeing for a ez fix/ 3 lights) so maybe i will just get that 1 working and sell the other .

This is what I did to get my 360 working.
Step 1. Heat gun trick on high setting 1000F (focus on the GPU) burn da shiet out of it, but in circular movement no long than 3 mins. After I'm done burning the GPU. I used something heavy to let it sit on the GPU for 30 mins. Step 2. Replace thermal compound. Step 3. Toothpick trick. My 360 has been running for 3 days now. It boots up every single time I turn it on.

Just wanted to add my experience so people can learn from it. First time I tried to heat repair it at about 480 since i was kinda nervous to mess it up. Well that fixed it for about 10mins.
Then the next time i tried it around 700 F, and actually worked the chips a little longer.. That was good for about 30mins. So today I took it and heated it at like 900-1000 F and actually worked the board alot longer (maybe about 2mins on just the chips, i know thats about the recommended time). I also replaced the shitty thermal compound I was using with arctic 5 and used the toothpick trick. Well so far I've gotten about an hour of flawless play. Knock on wood, but this time it seems to be running muuch nicer.
As far as the toothpick trick goes, I noticed I was able to get ALOT of wedge, Microsoft needs to put quality over quantity and stop released shitty products in a hurry to try and one up their competitors.... Why do you think window's has daily updates available for download.

I had to borrow my g-pas heat gun, damn thing is so old, it doenst have any type of setting to change the temp so i use a thermometer on my board, ne ways i think i have done a pretty good job on my xbox considering its been about 24 hours of almost non stop gameplay and no error codes what so ever i hope everyone else has as much sucess as i did, the next thing im doing is moving on to some sort of high performance cooling mod, ive got all of the materials list for a water cooling project, but im worried about losing the mobility of my console
