XBMC Remote for Windows Mobile 5 ONLY (Very easy to program for)

.NET Compact Framework 2.0 is required to use this program
http://www.microsof t.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9655156b-356b-4a2c-857c-e62f50ae9a55&DisplayLang=en
(Remove space between f and t for link to work)

Instructions
1) Copy the ppc folder into your XBMC/Web directory
2) Place XBMC Remote.exe anywhere on your pocket pc (probably somewhere easy to get to)
3) Enjoy!

Thanks to:
Team XBMC for XBMC
Suddenly_ike for the Web Interface used (which was heavily modified)
iconaholic.com for images used
and the Xbox-Scene, which is the whole reason I bought an Xbox!

Download

Known bugs:
When adding something to a playlist, it gives an error, but still gets added

Planned for lator:
Ability to quickly press previous IP's used or the ability to put the ip you want in a text file in the same directory as the exe which will be auto loaded

if you find any bugs, pleaes PM them to me

NOTE TO MODS: I posted a topic a little while ago (like 2-3 days) and it seems to have disappeared. Is there a reason why? I didn't get a PM telling me.

Any chance of this working on Windows Mobile 2003? I have an upgrade cd to Windows Mobile 5.0 for my Dell Axim X50v, but there are still many bugs/problems right now so I want to stick with 2003 for a bit longer.

OK I just made it for 2003 also! I didnt know it was so easy, all you need to do is set the target device to 2003, and no changing the code was required (it seems that what i needed was in .NET CF 2.0, not WM5) so you still need to get the .NET CF, but it will work just fine! Doesn't look as pretty on the bottom though, but thats just because of 2003.

Just use the same download link in the first post, the ZIP file has 2 exe's. One called XBMC Remote and one called XBMC Remote 2003, if you have 2003 use XBMC Remote 2003 one, if you have WM5 use XBMC Remote

Hi, this sounds like a brilliant app!

I have just recently acquired an Orange SPV-C600 Smartphone which has Windows Mobile 5.0. Will this be compatible please?

Thanks
Scott

As long as it has wifi (or some network connectivity like a bridge via blueooth) and you install the .NET CF 2.0 it will work!

What was fast? The 2003 "port", well it really was not a port, i just changed what the target device was and it worked perfectly fine!

MODS: PLEASE DELETE THE OTHER TOPIC, I ACCIDENTLY PUT THIS REPLY IN IT AND PLEASE EDIT THE FIRST POST so the download link is the same as the one below

OK! I finally got it to have a list of up to 10 IPs to choose from, or you can enter one in!
Here is the new download link
Download

Read the readme file inside the rar if you want to be able to have a list of IPs instead of having to type it in every time!

Changes:
Added a listbox and allowed up to 10 saved IPs
Fixed the thanks to Suddenly_ike in landscape mode in about page

Wifi is better, but if you only have bluetooth it will work, you will just need to set up a bridge on your computer and the computer must be within 10 meters (bluetooth range) of your pocket pc. If you have both, just use wifi

Sadly, the webserver does not support rewind or fastforward as far as i know.
Also I do not believe the webserver supports navigating dvd menus, you will need to use the normal controller for that.

If you want to use the infrared port for controlling things with infrared, there is a lot of apps like this one for example
http://www.novii.tv/

But that is not the point of this. This is mainly to be able to choose things from your library and a remote without the ir reciever for xbox

It will not let me edit my last post, but does anyone have any feature requests? I do not know of what else to do... I have done one more thing, which is Shut Down Xbox and Quit XBMC Remote which I will put in the next release, but I do not know anything else to put?
