9. Xbox 360 is being recalled.
There is no recall. Period. Return rates are actually lower than consumer electronics (CE) industry averages.

8. Microsoft is intentionally witholding product so as to build artificially high demand.
Seriously. Think of the revenue hit we'd take if we actually did that.

7. Halo 3 is finished, and just sitting in a warehouse somewhere (in Poughkeepsie)
See #8. Actually, come to think of it: we haven't announced anything about anything of which you claim we've announced or finished, as it were.

6. ____(insert name)___ is an alien/getting fired/fighting with _______ (Robbie Bach, Brian Lee, Peter Moore, J Allard, etc.)
Nope. Peter's my boss' boss' boss, and I just want to say, in case you're reading this: "you're great!"

5. Everyone at Xbox is evil (or a robot, or is money grubbing, etc.)
Dude - we're gamers. We're just trying to make a better games and entertainment than the other guy.

4. We stopped working on backwards compatibility.
Still going.

3. We chose Barbie's Horse Adventure first, because we didn't want PGR2 to be BackCompat
Nope, some titles are just bonus because other titles work.

2. Sony will launch a broadband service better than Xbox Live.
A big, bold claim. Two words: Emotion Engine.

Seriously, Kameo is a pretty fun game to play, especially if you are trying to turn your girlfriend onto the 360. It is also visually stunning.

Although this post didn't really tackleany exciting rumors, as much as squash stuff that seemed pretty bloody unreasonable. (Halo 3 is just wishfull thinking) and withholding 360s to build hype would only work if they were harder to get, not impossible.

Just my 2 centavos.

Wasn't it Bill Gates the founder of MS who said halo 3 would come out the same day as the PS3...obviously that means that Halo 3 would have to exist in order for that to happen.

I remember reading that article in Time. I think he suggested how ideal it would be for PS3 to run face first into Halo 3. But I think he was over-shooting it. Now that PS3 is accepting pre-books If the rumour were true one wouold expect them to annouce that Halo 3 prebooks had a date and were ready to go.

The bit about how MS wants to hold their product back from consumers to be more overhyped is definetly bs . It is on the stores behalf on how it is sold . I've seen a new pattern at the walmart I'm working at, they either will not put the game console out on the floor until 9:30 PM at night , or they will hold them until the morning ( 7 PM ) . The last past week we've had 360's each and everyday , so they are here but being sold at a rapid pace (or put on layaway, one reason why i think the past couple of days they've been put up for sale after hours since layaway is closed at 10). Just a bit of information so everybody will know the best times to check their walmart stores for 360s as I know I've seen the boxes on our pallets daily as I unload trucks.

A little lame to be posting this on the front page. To post stuff like this do a daily (or weekly) link version of random news of the day/week type of thing. oh well too much news is often better than too little.
