X3IR Sample Pictures -- Posted by XanTium on February 4 00:35 EST
We received samples of the Xecuter(info) X3IR addon from Divineo (Divineo.co.uk, Divineo.se, Divineo.es have them in stock already). Here are some quality pictures of the device (click for high-res version).

Xbox-Scene
The full set ... as temp promotion you'll also get a 'X3 Pro Switch' with it, mine was crystal. It comes with all wires you need, the main PCB, the Programmer PCB, the IR 'eye' and 3x dualside adhesives to keep all these in place.
Xbox-SceneXbox-Scene
On the left the X3IR main PCB, on the right the (serial) programmer part that will allow you to update the device (this will allow more/new features)

More Pictures:
* X3IR Package: Low-Res | High-Res
* IR 'eye' placed into Pro Switch: Low-Res | High-Res
* Close-up IR 'eye' + wire: Low-Res | High-Res
* Main PCB Picture2: Low-Res | High-Res

This list of features in case you missed it:
* Turn ON and OFF the XBOX with the XBOX Dvd remote control, and any RCA DVD compatible remote (and there are hundreds of these Wink )
* Enable/Disable Modchip upon boot.
* User programmable buttons for all functions, such as wich button turns on the xbox or turns it off
* Safety Off (tm) makes sure you press the 'OFF' button 3 times before turning off the xbox to prevent unintended xbox shutdown
* Blue status led
* Compatible with any modchip
* Perfect-Press (tm) - The length of emulated press of front panel 'Power' button can be finely tuned to work with any modchips' needs (ie. long press is 100msec - mod on, short press is 10msec - mod off)
* Easy to use programming software
* Learning functionality allows virtually any remote control to be used

If you need the installation instructions (shown for X3CP, but as picture above shows it's similar using the X3 Pro Switch), they are available here.

I've had mine since Wednesday, those installation instructions don't seem to be complete. If you look in the top picture the lead at the top has three bare wires. The instructions available don't say where these go, and mine doesn't appear to do anything then.

Divineo have them but looks like it's only some of the European stores at the moment. Check the top of the first post in this thread for details.

It appears to me that out of the box the X3IR only supports on & off and none of the other remote functions. Is that correct?

Yeah, doesn't do anything else but power the system and x3

Exactly, you still need the regular IR dongle to do everything else. You can already shut your Xbox off through any dashboard so basically you're only buying this to turn your Xbox on remotely.

Which is ideal for people as lazy as me biggrin.gif

You can also choose whether your X3 is enabled or not.

I'm having trouble finding a situation where this would be a usefull feature... (remote booting the xbox without chip enabled)

(but then, I'm having trouble finding a situation where it is useful to boot the xbox without the 3x enabled anyways... smile.gif )

Hopefully, via the programmer, users will be able to replace the regular IR dongle. Until then, I'm not buying one.

I've been waiting for this. I hate getting up to turn on my box. I saw Yoshi do this a few years back with a some common RF hardware- but this setup is perfect. When can I get one!

Nope. I don't know why there is so much confusion regarding this. Xecuter has been clear from day one that this will not replace the IR dongle.
