X3IR Manager v1.1.10 Software and Guides -- Posted by XanTium on February 4 13:15 EST
Team xecuter sent us the first public release of the X3IR Manager.
This will allow to modify and flash your X3IR addon settings (see news item below for pictures, info and features of this addon).
Settings currently are:
* Allow Power ON: yes/no
* Power Button Push Delay Mod On: x msec (depending on modchip you are using, you might have to change this)
* Power Button Push Delay Mod Off: x msec
* Turn On with Mod Enabled: remote button code (there's an easy 'Learning Mode' to add new button presses from different remotes)
* Turn On with Mod Disabled: remote button code
* Turn off: remote button code
* Read Settings
* Write Settings

With Default Settings and Xbox remote:
* Select button -> Turn On Xbox, Modchip Enabled
* Display button -> Turn On Xbox, Modchip Disabled
* Press '0' button 3x -> Turn Off Xbox

They also sent us some new install bits. How to install it in the X3CP (and X3PS is similar) was already available here.
Here's a guide package that includes:
* How to connect the 3 wires (GND/3.3v/3.3v standby) in the PSU points (not explained in X3CP-guide above, but required) UPDATE: the color of the wires on the picture don't match the retail X3IR ... cactusbob posted the info: Black = Ground, Red = +3.3v Standby and White = +3.3v.
* X3IR Programming Instructions
* X3IR Feature and Usage

Thank you !!!!!!!

Except that the three power wires in the guide are referred to as Orange, Brown and Yellow. The actual wires are Red, Black and White.

OK, finally got the scope out, for anyone that needs to know the three wires are as follows:

Black = Ground
Red = +3.3V Standby
White = +3.3V

Works great with the DVD Remote.

Hmm. Their install diagram looks very similar to one I made a while ago.

They mislabeled the install points on the 1.6 though. The 3.3V and 3.3V STBY should be switched around. What they have labeled as 3.3V STBY on the 1.6 is actually 5V non-standby, and what they have labeled as 3.3V is actually 5V standby.

its pretty much the exact same product.. just has some minor improvements and on new PCBs, so yes.. you can make it solderless the same way that the xir is solderles.. by jamming the power wires inside the psu plug instead of soldering, thats the way I did it when I installed a irmod without soldering a long time ago..

is there a way to turn that safety off feature off
I intend on using my harmony remote with this and it don't support sending a command 3 times in row for the activity buttons
-
Nevermind i guess it does support sending more then 1 command or the off key 3 times
now I just hope they hurry up and get them to usa dealers cuz im tired of waiting

Well I've just installed one into my v1.6 and its not working properly. Blue status led on the X3IR board lights up to say its active and everything but it wont switch my box on with the X3 activated. If I press select it boots without the chip on, if I press display it boots without the chip on and if I press 0 it goes off straight away with out the three presses?. Dont know if the problem is with the v1.6 having 5v supply as apposed to 3.3v?. I cant use the manager program at the moment because I dont have a serial cable to link it up with the pc. I had only planned on using it with the default settings out the box. Dont know what to now sad.gif .

very helpful dry.gif

anyway, the power off thing sounds like the 3.3V (non standby) cable is not properly connected so that it doesn't see when the xbox is on.

Did you solder them to the bottom of the motherboard? I tried jamming them in the atx connector but they kept falling out, so I had to solder them in the end.

Works great now.

Mines a 1.4, no problems doing it at all. Pain to have to take the mobo out though.
