dont know if its true but if so then great news indeed. with all the worry about game prices on the rise its good to see that some games can still be fairly cheap.

According to Gamestop, the retail price for the XBox360 version of Top Spin 2 is going to be just $39.99. This is great, if it starts a trend it could be good news for us all. Here's hoping for more $39.99 games, hint hint MS!

I wondering if it will have a full 1000 GamerPoints to earn.

I think it'll have 1000 gamerpoint, every game so far has 1000 right?
Condemned at 970 .
This isn't the first game to be $40 on 360 either (technically). If you pre-ordered Full Auto and got the faceplate, the game rang up $40 and the faceplate $20. That way you couldn't return the game and keep the faceplate.

You're forgetting PGR3 with 900. The lowest amount for a retail game, and undoubtedly one of the hardest games to net all points.
Besides, who cares about the points anyway? Getting half the achievements in PGR3 is more impressive than getting the full 1000 in King Kong. They can't be traded for goods or services. They're not worth anything, and it's completely unbalanced across the full spectrum of games out now.
Back on topic: I hope the game does sell for that price. It might help other developers into bringing their prices down for future releases.

You do know that tennis as a computer game is basically a suped up Pong, right?
You have never played Topspin then. If you are no good at it just say so. I have this game on pre-order the original is very addictive. Price wise you don't know how lucky you are in the US. The price for release here is £43.99, if you pre-order via the net that drops to £39.99 but still a lot more than $39.99 which = £22.91 at the moment

That is a very good price for such a great game. Video game tennis is surprisingly deep. There are so many skilled-based variables to consider once you achieve a high level of play.
