I were tring to install my new x3 ce chip when a fu****g spill of solder get on a resistor then I tryied to recuperate it by heating a little bit an aspirating but the resitor came with it huh.gif so now i'm stuck 'cauz my xbox is a 1,0 and there is a special circuit for controller now i'm in need to buy an other motherboard but everything I found on the net is 1,2 to 1,6 and there is no specil board for controller on these one.... How can I change the motherboard without changing everything around of it... or can I simply disconnect the controller connector from the card and plug them directly on the mothaboard

and for the hdd do I can still use my 1.0 one? It is up to date or is there any special thing on the others hdd that make them non-compliant within any older/newer version?

for the dvd drive i'm ok I bought an Hitachi one after the Holidays!

Thanks for your answer for my numerous questions!

If you can take a picture or scan the controller board to show which resistor is missing, you might be able to replace it and get it working again.
If your hard drive is locked, then the motherboard must be going to unlock it so you can use it with another mobo. Catch 22 situation.

if you can take a picture of it or something so we can see where the component was located then we can tell you what it is (so then you can get a replacement from an electronics shop or something).

Don't worry about a resistor its a pretty simple replacement the board's not fried
