I have a Samsung DVD drive, and whenever there is not a disk in it, it sticks and will not open, but if there is a disk in it, it opens fine. Any ideas on why this is happening or how I can fix it?

I had one that did that. SO......


I took it apart and cleaned the track/rail under the tray good. applied a light grease to it, and it had NO effect in helping it. SOOOOOO

you know them metal rings they USED to put on them thomsons, on the face part, you know the ones we toss off and NEVER reUse again? well I put one of them in there and it gave it just enough lift to make it align a bit better and it never stuck again. so, you may want to round one of them silver ring bits up and put it on the drive and see if it aligns for ya.

seems that it helps it JUST enough for the one I did at least.
