When transferring my set to mame via ftp, I can't put more than 4,096 roms in the roms folder! can i set up a new folder within the roms folder to put the remaining 1,957 games?

Yeah, that's a limitation of the FATX file system used by the XBox hard drive. When at the ROM list in MAMEoX bring up the options menu and cycle through it. Somewhere in there you can define up to 4 ROM paths.

you know what man, thanks! i feel dumb because i posted before i actually checked it for myself. i was transferring roms over and didn't want to break the connection by opening up Mameox. I appreciate the feedback and I've gone ahead and defined another path

Just make sure you select the option to scan the ROMS again. When you add new ROMS or a new path they don't automatically appear in the ROMS list, you have to tell MAMEoX to scan again.

Yeah, the only collections i had trouble transferring were the large ones like the NES and MAME... For NES, i had GoodNES filter out all of the english roms and forign roms into separate folders and that fixed it. It's a little easier to navigate this way also.
