I just got done throwing in my 60mm uv purple fans and I think it came out nice. I was hoping for a little more light to come off of them to light up the air duct a little more, but it still looks cool being able to see the fans lite up through the air duct window. I also threw on a little UV reactive paint on some of the components on the Motherboard. Tell me what you guys think.........................

After I painted the parts and began to install the fans

And the final product

Nothing too crazy, but just a little something extra on a simple box. ph34r.gif

Blood,

Thanks, and by the way, I got the fans from www.xboxchopshop.com, Jeff swapped out the LEDs to the UV ones for me and was very fast with his shipping. Highly recommend getting your case modding stuff from his site. ph34r.gif

Looks awesome.

The fan LEDs may be dimmer than expected unless you're running the fans at 12 V since that's what the resistors were intended for. It depends on the fan but it shouldn't be too hard to replace the resistors or add extra ones in parallel to decrease total equivalent resistance (which is what I did) as long as you know the ratings for your LEDs and maximum supply voltage to the fans (which I believe varies with temperature?) and don't forget to calculate the necessary power dissipation for your resistors.

Of course, if you don't mind the noise, you could just run them at 12 V.

I love those windows but I think it would look better without painting the mobo components

Looks pretty damn good. I must say, out of all the modifications you did, I like the flat black paint the best. Good work.

Thanks for all the compliments, and to answer your question manhunt009, I just cut out a little square in the side of the dvd drive, and placed the LED housing in it and glued it with plastic epoxy. I got the LED housings from coolerguys.com , http://coolerguys.com/840556051633.html .......those to be exact. ph34r.gif

Im not too sure about what you are asking. If you are asking if I installed the Leds in the fans, the answer is no. I bought them from www.xboxchopshop.com and had them swith out the blue leds for the UV leds ( http://www.xboxchopshop.com/catalog/produc...products_id=271 ).

I think thats the best looking 360 ive seen yet. I think it would be better looking without the blue LEDS and just UV but awsome work.
