I recently purchased a logitech precision wireless controller.
The controller feels great, the analog sticks and digital pad feel very comfy. I am having a small problem though, the face buttons (A,X,B,Y + B&W) dont respond to touch as well as i hoped (much worse actually sad.gif ).
In some instances, i have to depress the button almost fullly to get the controller to register that press.

I know that this issue has come up in the past with owners of the Logitech wireless controller, is there any way around this? Its really making my thumb flare up. Could it be the controller has to be "broken-in" , or is my particular controller faulty?
I really like this controller and will be working on a solution for this.

Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated biggrin.gif

Thanks for your answer, but this action (hold L +start while putting in the 2nd battery) is for recalibrating the analog sticks on the controller. As i mentioned earlier, the analog sticks work great.
I am having trouble with the sensitivity of the face buttons (AXBY +BW).
Did you ever encounter this same problem with your Logi-Wireless?

I've got the same problem with the Precision Pro. The buttons as you say need to be pushed really hard to get them to register. I exchanged mine thinking it was a problem but the replacement that I got is still the same. In the end I just got use to pushing a bit harder.

The weird thing is that if you just press the button as you normally would the green light on the Logitech receiver will light up acknowledging a button press but the game itself won't register the button click. Give it a try.

I had the exact same issue when I first got mine. Its not broken/faulty it just takes a couple of weeks use to bed the controller in. Either that or I just got used to it and don't notice the difference anymore. I prefer the logitech to my original ms controller now anyway.

I fixed mine, its to do with the shape of the contacts on the rubbers. If your not worried about pressure sensitivity on the face buttons then this will work. Take out the button rubber and look at the shape of the black contacts on the underside. they are convex, this is supposed to assist the analogue function if the buttons but all it does is make the pad unresponsive. You need to make the pads flat, i used a knife but you could file them down. My pad has almost no analogue sensitivity on abxy buttons but it does respond to the lightest touch.
hope this helps.

Hey laurie, this method sounds like it will be perfect for me. Im looking for the buttons to be very very sensitive, like you said "respond to the lightest touch" I really do not have a use for the face buttons being pressure sensitive ---> mostly play emus. I will disasemble the Logi-Wireless on my lunch break and take a look at the rubber pads. I will post with results.
Thanks for the info, you prolly just made this logitech the best controller EVER happy.gif

I completed the dissasembly and just put it all back together.
There is no real noticable difference- i still have to press kinda hard for the button to register.
I sanded the concave surface down to a flat surface (on the black rubber pads) - was i supposed sand down/ cut off the entire thing? I dont see why that would help but.
Im trying to figure out what thickness of rubber would be the best- I was figurring that it would be possible to put a peice of rubber in between the actuall grey button peice and the blue button rubber.
Any suggestions/comment?

Your best bet is just to keep using it untill in beds in. Seriously, I was exactly the same as you when I got mine and started taking it apart trying to adjust the rubber pads etc. After a week or 2 you won't notice any difference between the stock ms and logitech controller. Its a little annoying at first but you forget about it very quickly. It used to annoy me most when playing burnout 3 because you have to hold A to boost but it kept cutting out cos I wasn't pushing hard enough. I don't seem to have that problem anymore.

make the black pads flat and it will work.

another thing you can do is use the rubber pads from a different pad, some cheep ps1 pads have single rubber contacts for the shoulder buttons, these work as they are flat.

I will be checking the pads again tonight when im home to be sure i did it correctly ( i kinda rushed on my lunchbreak).
If that doesn't work, i do have some old crappy pelcian P.O.S. pads lying around, so ill be sure to check out what kind of carbon pads they have.
Thanks for all the help smile.gif

Not much since there's batteries in the centre and rumble motors on either side. Probably a lot less room than in a stock controller.

You could possibly take out the two rumble motors, making some room.
