Hi, I've just changed my xbox hard drive from a 320 gig to 80 gig. Now I want to format the 320 gig so I can use it as a share in windows xp. I know the xbox uses a different file system and thats why I can't access it in windows. Are there any utils that will enable me to see and format the drive from dos or windows? I'm not worried about accessing the data on the drive, I just want to see it and wipe it, thank.

First off, you're posting in the wrong forum.
I'm not sure if there's a way to do it in Windows, there probably is, but if no one else responds soon and you can't find an answer, you'll be able to do it in DOS.

You need your eeprom from your Xbox. FTP it and your C and E drives to your computer.

If you don't have these files backed up, you really need to.

Make a CD with xboxhdm and boot from the CD. Have your 320gig connected. Disconnect your other drive so you don't mess it up by accident.

At the first menu, you van choose 3 then type in "unlockhd -a"

That should unlock the drive.

Connect it to your computer, probably setting it as a slave and XP should recognize it and ask you to format it.
