Pioneer HTP-XGS1 5.1 surround for Xbox 360 -- Posted by XanTium on March 24 11:42 EST
From newlaunches.com and journaldugeek.com (translated to english):
[QUOTE]
The Pioneer HTP-XGS1 5.1 channel surround sound system is designed specifically to work with the Xbox 360. The unit has an output of 600 watts which will blow you away. The HTP-XGS1 is equipped with MCACC which stands for Multi Channel Acoustic Calibration. So what does MCACC do it measures your room's acoustic properties, and automatically adjusts the sound coming out of the speakers to to give you the best listening experience.
The remote controller should also allow you to control some of the features of the Xbox 360. There's no price yet, but the device is expected in may in Europe (no US/Jap info yet).

Nice little set-up. Too bad those little speakers won't have the dynamic range to accurately reproduce sound sad.gif

Depends on the size of your room too... I have a yamaha 7.1 set up with speakers that probabley aren't much larger than that... well maybe 1.5x to 2x larger because they're 2 ways, but they sound great - the only difference is that I have large floor speakers as my front left and right along with a sub, so I'm sure I get a little more range from that biggrin.gif

It looks like the receiver.

i imagine it is the receiver, but its so thin and shaped like a faceplate. and in the picture its hard to understand how its sitting up like that unless there are little legs behind it, and not just to keep it up in this picture. i dont know, but imagine if they did manage to make it into a faceplate. that would be something.

Does anyone know how well the MCACC feature works or if this technology has been seen in other products/brands? I know that Bose has their own called Adapt IQ. Nice speaker setup, but I am already satisfied with mine.

It does appear that the receiver is very small and stands on some small feet, leaving the amplifier within the sub - looks kind of like the 360 faceplates though too.

If its anything like my pioneer reciver.. you take the mic. to your "sweet spot" and it will automaticly set up the delay and levels. Its a nice feature .. it takes some tweaking to get it to soud your way but still a good addition.
