http://www.extreme-mods.com/product_info.p...ate_banner_id=1

I was contiplating getting this modchip over the Xecuter 2.6ce because of price. (I need more than one) and I just wanted to know if there is any major differences between the two chips.

From what I can tell, there isnt really that much of a difference... But, Im not 100% sure. Thats why im asking here smile.gif

Also, is it possible for non-Xecuter modchips to run Xecuter bios'?

Thanks in advance for any information....

well generally speaking the X2 bios is made to run on ANY modchip. most likely that modchip your looking at can run it... although i dont know much about that modchip your looking at... as all i mess with it Xecuter modchips myself.... another good thing about xecuter modchip is they give u clear instuctions of how to install the modchip... which some modchips dont.

generally speaking i would stick with Xecuter modchips as there generally known for good quality! wink.gif

p.s. if u aint planning on upgradeing hard drive etc u dont even need a modchip to get your xbox to do all the fancy stuff wink.gif .. u can softmod it with a program called "XBoxHDM" and kingraoch's softmod installer that works with xboxhdm (and best of all it's FREE! )... read around in these forums if you care to read up on this XBoxHDM program wink.gif ... basically main advantage a modchip has over softmoding is it's easier to fix a problem with a modchip being that u wont have to reopen the case to reuse xboxhdm in case something where to happen to the softmod... where as with a modchip u can generally pop in a bootable cd in the xbox and fix it that way... also i forgot to mention another thing... if your upradeing the hard drive on the xbox another advanatge with a modchip is you can use ANY hard drive u want where as the softmod the hard drive MUST support locking, otherwise it wont work on the xbox. (when i say any hard drive with the modchip im assuming your NOT using xbox live)

it's your call im just making some suggestions.

If you decide to use a soft mod i generally suggest using Krazie's Ndure Installer w/ gamesave exploit it does everything for u except load the gamesave exploit, but it is very clear on how to go about it.

You can find it at the usual places.

Excellent! Thank you guys so much for your information... I apreciate it.

Well I usually do go for Xecuter just because of their quality. IMO, they are the best chip out there... But it has been awhile since I did any research on XBox stuff so I am a little outdated.

Glad to hear that the bios should run it. Thats what I thought, but I wasnt 100% sure. I know that the Xecuter bios runs on my old Matrix chip, but wasnt sure about some of the new chips....

Anywho- I had no idea there was such thing as a "softmod"! This looks very promising.... I'll definitly have to do more research on this...

Thanks Again biggrin.gif

like he said above about the krayzie's ndure installer... im sure that works good although myself i always used kingroach's NDURE 3.0 installer (this works with XBoxHDM) ... basically XBoxHDM runs from a bootable cd from the pc and you need to connect the xbox's hard drive into the pc's IDE cable and basically it will reprogram stuff on the xbox so you can do all the good stuff like run backup games and run xbox media center etc etc. ... just read up on it as XBoxHDM is on these forums wink.gif

WARNING:... in theory it's sorta dangerous to use the XBoxHDM program (basically since u need to hotswap the cables while the power is on, on both the pc and xbox) since it can possibly damage xbox/pc but i done it several times myself and never had any issues! ... just thought i would let you know though as i feel this needs to be mentioned.
