Have you tred this method in XboxHDM:

When turning on PC, keep IDE unplugged from from hard drive that you are going to lock. Let PC boot into the 4 options screen. Then while you are at that screen plug in the IDE. Then boot option 3. See if it works for you.

JrracinFan8 yeah I tried that but the PC just refuses to load linux, or it restarts and automatically finds the HD grr.gif

Today I'm going to try my 4th PC (My rooms starting to get prettty messy now, lol)

1st PC: Freeze locks the HD
2nd PC: Doesn't load the XboxHDM boot CD (havn't worked out why)
3rd PC: When trying to load linux option 3, the PC restarts (Might be because the PC is v.old can't handle it jester.gif )

4th PC: This is a much newer/faster PC so hopefully more chance of it working (My dads Home Cinema PC, so I hope i dont break it lol)

So I'll post the results of that later,

Cheers,

DickE

biggrin.gif It Works biggrin.gif

4th Time Lucky, used my dad's HCPC and XboxHDM worked like a charm, only took 2mins (It took longer to convince my dad that I wouldn't break it, than to fix it lol)

Cheers everybody who help me,

DickE

Glad to see you got it working. AFAIK, the best PC's I know to use for locking drives are built from scratch AMD based. Little info for everyone.

Yeah I can second that, I built my dads HCPC a few years back, and its AMD, and that was the one that worked, where all the Store brought old skool intel's failed at some point.

Yeah, compaqs and other intel based boards suck grr.gif for trying to use xboxhdm.

I had the same problem as your 3rd computer. It just kept restarting my moms old compaq computer no matter which option I chose. So finally I used the AMD computer I built from scratch and it worked perfectly.

By the way this is totally unrelated but sitting at work while you have a new piece of electronics at the house that you haven't had a chance to fiddle with yet sucks. jester.gif
