I was up late on April 30th working on a DVD project, so I thought to myself I should render a preview of my progess so far and see how it would look on my HDTV via XBMC. I turned my xbox on and turn back to my computer which is nearby. I turn back to my xbox and see that its off. "That's odd", I said, "I thought I turned it on". I press the power on and three seconds later, it shuts off again. "This can't be good", I thought to myself. Moments later, I smelled a distinct smell of burning metal. "Oh, [great]." I said aloud as I pull my xbox away from my tv and reciever. Opening my xbox, I didn't see the problem at first glance. So I plugged it in and observed the motherboard while it powered on. Lo and behold I found the culprit (accompanied by a lovely firework show).

Time of Death: 2:45 AM (CST), April 30th 2006.
Poor Red Barkley (I named my xbox after its color, red, and one of my favorite ball players, Charles Barkley

).
Thankfully, my modchip and hard drive appear to be ok, but I'm going to have to find some cash to pick up a new xbox. Just thought I'd share my story
